Lightroom - Sync Snapshot and Sync...

Can anyone tell me what Sync Snapshot and Sync Copies do and how to use them?

They are in the Develop Menu if the Develop Module.

Thanks
Lightroom - Sync Snapshot and Sync...
Sync Settings, Sync Snapshot %26amp; Sync Copies allows you to ''push'' new settings (generally a sub-set of all settings) to images that are selected (Sync Settings), an image's snapshots (Sync Snapshots) and Virtual Copies (Sync Copies).

When would you use these? Well, if you want to sync settings, that assumes you have multiple images selected in the Film Strip that you want to push settings to. . .could be color/tone settings, could be spot healing settings, could be a crop.

The Sync Snapshot and Copies allow you to push settings updates to, well, an image's snapshots and any virtual copies you've made from the image. Again, if you do something to the image that you want to push out to the snapshots and copies, this allows you to do so. Again, you would prolly want to do only sub-settings as apposed to all settings-otherwise, why have the snaps and copies. Spot healing would be a good example. Say you've got two crops saved as snapshots and you've made a B%26amp;W virtual copy, but when looking at the main image, you see a sensor spot that you didn't notice. Well, rather than have to add a spot healing to each snapshot and the VC, just do the master and update the snaps and copies.

Same thing for other sub-settings...like crops, sharpening, etc. It allows changes other than all the settings.

You can see how this is pretty powerful...
