Is it possible to oganise presets in groups so that the preset list does not run off the screen?

Not yet, but it is a common feature request.

You can delete some in the mean time, via Finder or Explorer.
Is there any way to control what directory they are stored in?
I use LR on two different computers w/ an external drive that has the DB and photos. So it'd be nice to have the presets move with the drive.
Aside from that, it's generally bad practice to store customizations on the ''C'' drive.
