This is a Mac story. Today, LR would not start for some reason. It would bounce 21 times in the dock, and stay there, without window. This is on a 1.8Ghz G5 (iMac 20'') with 10.4.9. Nothing new on the computer since the last successfull lauch. Memory usage was very low, around 13MB.
After repairing permissions on the disk (there were no errors), and a restart, I followed Adobe's advise to reinstall it. But the installer would tell me at the end ''failed, try installing again''. So I moved the existing LR from Applications to the Desktop. LR was thus reinstalled fresh, rather than on top of the existing one. This *solved* the problem.
There must have been an error in the package on my disk itself. Rather odd, but I thought that sharing this experience might help others.
