LR has sharpending in both Develop and Print modules. What recommendations to people have for setting them? Do the different sliders effect different parts of the image? Any insights?
Obviously the type of camera, file format and output size all have an impact. I shoot RAW with the a D200.
Thanks!

LR sharpening in both Develop and Print?
The sharpening in Develop is considered ''capture sharpening'' meaning it's only a light amount of sharpening intended to regain sharpening lost when digitizing...the sharpening in Print is intended as ''output sharpening'' for the prupose of printing...the current output sharpening in Print is only a partial solution...anything other than ''High'' is pretty useless.
The sharpening in Develop is ''being worked on'' by the Camera Raw/Lightroom teams and should be improved in the near future...

LR sharpening in both Develop and Print?
Jeff,
Thanks for the clarification and link to Bruce's article. I'm acquainted with the 3 pass approach and am trying to use LR as much as I can without ducking in and out of other applications.
I've heard that LR is good for output of small prints, but for anything intented for the wall, I would be better served by PS or Qimage.
I look forward to LR improving sharpening so that for images that don't need localized adjustments, I can stay in LR. (Did Mark ever give you a commitment for localized adjustments in LR 2.0? I'll have to listen to Podcast #29)
I've always considered sharpening one of the most important parts of the workflow. I'll be taking Mac and John's workshop at the end of June, so I'll get their additonal insight on sharpening.

would LOVE to see a pixelgenius sharpening ''module'' plug-in for Lightroom....

:~)
I can say no more...
I could say more, but it wouldn't mean a hill of beans! :)
But I like Jeff's note....
As may might be aware Jeff Schewe is part of PixelGenius, http://www.pixelgenius.com/people.html
This could be his way of saying something is coming without saying it.
Just a hope on my part at least. :)
