Yeh for you Tom!!

Working on a holiday.

Urk, 3 weeks to wait for the conversion tool =(

Will this free update be available for mac users?

I was a windows user with Rawshooter Premium but have since switched to Mac, can I still get the version 1.0 of Lightroom free?

Best wishes

Colin.

As a RSP user you are entitled to the free copy.

Lightroom is cross platform, so you will be able to use it on the Mac

I am having a problem with Elements 5, whose database shows me as having ''bought'' Raw Shooter Elements (which, as you know, is FREE) on the date that I actually bought Raw Shooter Premium.

I have their e-mail supplying me with the unlock key for RSP but this (I have just noticed!) ALSO refers to Essentials throughout!!!!

I assume that Elements 5 will be supplying you with the e-mail addresses of what they consider to be valid RSP owners and, therefore, I assume I will NOT be on that list!!

How can I make sure that I receive my free copy of LR1?

Hi,

Is uninstalling LR beta mandatory before installing LR 1? Thanks .

- please read the FAQ at www.LightroomExtra.com

Hi, is the coming german version of LR also free for RSP Users?

Thanks Roland

I've just checked at element5 and they're showing me as having NO orders whatsoever, despite having also bought Colour Engine.

Like Simon, I have the emails with the activation key (which does refer to Premium), however I'm rather concerned that they appear to have ''lost'' all my orders (what if my hard disk goes belly up and for some reason I want to reinstall RSP, but need to get the keys back?)

I went online, even called Abobe. Despite having purchased RawShooter Premium in May (have the e-mail trail to prove it!) they started to say they couldn't help and then they hung up on me!! I couldn't find an e-mail address at the provided site. What can I do?

Hansle, I would suggest that you call Adobe back. The hang up was probably unintentional.

I just got off of the phone with Adobe Sales and they told me that the post on Pixmantec for a free upgrade should not have been posted and that they weren't giving it free to anyone. What are we supposed to believe? Even if they do end up honoring it, what about those people who have changed their email since their Pixmantec purchase. I guess we will just have to wait another week to see what happens.

Sigh...

You believe what Tom Hogarty posted.

Tim77, I don't know if this is the case but it seems to me that fewer and fewer people that I contact on the phone for any business reason have the first clue about the company they are representing. Most of them don't work for that company but for a third party company in a call centre.

Whether the person with whom you spoke works directly for Adobe or not, I would bet the store on the fact that the Adobe reps on this forum and on other forums such as Pixmantec's forum are telling you what will happen. You will get your email with your serial number by the 23rd, OR you will write to Adobe and present them with your proof of purchase for RSP and they will give you a serial number.

Tim, think about it - there are thousands and thousands of us. Can you imagine the fallout if Adobe went back on their promise? I am absolutely sure that they will honour their word and I am convinced that they would not want to do anything else.

Hello,

I pre-ordered Lightroom before hearing of this RSP ---%26gt; Lightroom deal. I bought RSP a while back and of course, if I can get LR for free, I would prefer to save the $199. How can I make sure I don't spend money needlessly?

Thanks,

John

Contact whoever you placed the order with?

Baffled as to the angst this is causing people... Adobe said they would take care of the RSP owners... I think we should believe them. We, as RSP owners, should do as has been suggested ad nauseum... Make sure your current e-mail is in the RSP sales database and wait for the 23rd... The link has been posted many times. For now, I am enjoying Lightroom 1.0 WAY too much to be stressed out about whether or not Adobe has an underlying agenda here. :o)

Does anybody to whom at Adobe I should write (with my proof of purchase of RSP, my mail address...) to get a serial before the 23rd ?

Why do you need it before the 23rd? Just get the trial and wait until it comes.

Hi Tim,

Customer Support phone lines, regardless of the company, are horrible theses days unless you get to at least level 2 support.

Seriously though, if the project manager of Lightroom is announcing a RSP FAQ, you have little to worry about.

Some of these points have been discussed with David Metzger over at the RSP forum. He has said that as long as you hold a key for RSP and some sort of proof of payment, emails, credit card records etc. You will be able to have the free copy whether it says essentials on the elemnts web site or not.

You might want to check this link

http://www.pixmantec.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0%26amp;Number=36595%26amp;page=0%26amp;fpart=all %26amp;vc=1%26amp;nt=2

They (element 5) also show me as having no orders. They requested order #, email address, etc. I also sent them the .pdf of the invoice they sent me with my order confirmation early last year.

We'll see.........

Being someone who purchased RSP but has since changed my email address, I followed the FAQ and sent an email to Adobe Asia Pacific Support.

They responded by sending me the link to the Pixmantec notice of July 2006 about being bought out by Adobe - and nothing else?!?!?!?

Will email AGAIN with the details of my problem and see if it sinks in this time.

I will report back as to my success or failure.

Subsequent to my earlier post re no orders showing up, it appears that when I bought and registered RSP, I must have been previously registered with my proper email address (not really sure why, maybe something to do with register RSE previously), so for my RSP activation, they added a ''-1'', on to the end of my email, giving something like ''xxx@yyy.com-1'', to use as the account ID. Sure enough, the orders showed up under that account, whereas when I first went to check earlier this week, I used ''xxx@yyy.com'' as the ID, which showed nothing.

I don't know why I didn't a ''This ID is already taken'' page or somesuch at the time of registration, but for others having the same problem, this might be the cause. If you have the order number from the activation email, send a message to the element5 customer service, and they should send you back a link to the proper account

J,

I discovered my ID also had a -1 added to it. It must be the software the company uses because I've run into this before with other sites.

I'm waiting until or after the 23rd for an email. Not sure why everyone is so flustered about getting it before the 23rd.

Regarding the changed email addresses, can you log back to your old email address and check messages or have you completely the email account completely?

As of Wednesday, February 21, 2007, this is the email I have received:

Thanks Tom,

just registered my liscence! What a bargain!!!!

overall I think that LR is a fantastic V.1.0 product, love it!

klaus

Got mine about 1 hour ago, works perfectly! Thanks Tom and team!

I got the email message offering the upgrade and followed the directions, which tell me that I'll get a screen with a serial number before I download. I got the screen, but the serial number was BLANK. Now what am I supposed to do?

Rog

I just got the e-mail as well and had the same problem Roger did - no serial number. Now what do we do?

Thanks,

Anita Pollak

4. On the following page please take note of your Serial Number

and print or write that information in a safe place

I'm on this page now and it does not display the Serial Numer. All it says is ''Serial Numer'' with nothing next to it. The it says ''Version: Macintosh'' and a ''Proceed to Download'' button.

Same here no serial #!!!!!!.

You are not alone. Same thing happened to me; screen that says Serial Number but no serial number given. :-(

Same here, no serial number on the page.

I copied my epail address from the sent message and pasted it into the field on the offer page.

Something not quite right.

Same here, serial number blank :-((

Bob

Same problem. Instead of a serial number, there's a button titled, ''Proceed to download.''

Dave

Same thing for me. No serial number, not even in the page source code. Browser is Firefox 2.0.0.1 on WinXP, trying to get the Windows version. I sure hope this will be fixed...

Ditto.....no serial number.

Gremlins in the system somewhere.

Same thing for me.. logging a case with support now

Got my email. Havent tried it yet, kinda sucks that you only get 1 shot at downloading it so I will do it from home and email a copy to my gmail account.

Just did my first batch of side by side workflow comparison prints. My RSP colors looked amazing, the Lr ones not so much. I'm digging Lr despite the database so far, so time will tell.

No serial number here either.

Has anyone actually got a serial number?

Ditto. No serial number. I am using the Opera web browser.

I'm off to Melbourne for the ''Simplify Photography from Shoot to Finish'' presentation by Adobe for Lightroom and CS2.I'll take printouts of the two web pages and see what they have to say.

Add me to the chorus - no serial number listed on the page. I was wondering if it was a Mac thing, but note that some Windows people are getting the same result.

So, should I download at this point, or not?

Adobe is currently looking into the problem encountered by those who receive no Serial Number on the ''Download Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0'' fulfillment page.

Thank you for your patience.

Regards,

Tom

Same here. Got no serial number. Opened a ticket with the Adobe support. Hope it will be resolved.

Same problem here. (WinXP, IE6)
