N00b to Lightroom

So I just got a new D80 with a new Mac Book with Lightroom.

So Im trying to export NEF files to jpg for the web but I cannot get the colors I want out of the LR export. After some googling and some reading on the subject of ProPhoto RGB, sRGB and Adobe RGB Im more confused about the subject and my exported jpg looks really bad on the web:

After trying many things in CS3 and LR I got the brilliant idea to screen cap the photo inside Lightroom with the colors I want. As you can see the sRGB does look a lot like the screen cap (capt.jpg).

So what is the correct way of exporting NEF files to jpg ?

Thanx for the help.

My understanding is that for web it is best to use sRGB. So you need to choose sRGB in the image seeting menu of the export menu.

You are apparently not using the Web Module, but just exporting to build your own website? Web Module auto generates sRGB.

Are you working with a Spyder or other profiled screen? LR forces you to do complete and proper Color management to get the best output.
