LR has stalled and crashed on me three times when attempting to remove a folder from the library...I am still unable to remove the folder...
any suggestions?
aaron
remove folder
Have you deleted the images first on a select all? Then highlight folder and do the (-) in folder list header.
Don
remove folder
well, i just did that and it's stalling on the removal of the photos.
i am trying to get the folder structure to match what is on my hard drive so i am dealing with the 15000 images i have imported with beta 4.1.
the program has stopped responding but the RAM allocated to it is fluctuating along with the CPU usage...so perhaps it is doing something?
I'm a little miffed by how clunky this thing still feels...the fact that i am unable to perform simple tasks like organizing my folder structure without the program using up 99% of my resources and locking up completely without any feedback as to the status of the command i just gave it...
have you read the FAQ.?
Aaron, what exactly have you done - step by step??
It would help to know if you are removing from your HD or library.
i have read the readme and the FAQ.
I am removing the items from my library only.
I opened LR, clicked the + sign as i was instructed by the FAQ. selected the base folder and after about 10-15 min the folder appeared (no response from LR in the meantime) So i browsed the structure and noticed that the base folder i was using for beta 4.1 has a rather large amount of empty or misplaced folders within it, all i wanted to add was the main folder i had imported all of my 2007 photos to, so i would like to delete the base folder and just add the folder named ''2007'' without it being nested within the base folder along with all of the junk created by beta 4.1.
As i am typing this message LR is periodically freezing my computer due to the resources it is taking up.
I am running an AMD Athalon XP2500 with 2GB RAM on windows XP.
Thanks Aaron, that helps plenty.
Let me have a break and I will come back, if someone else hasn't replied first.
You only needed to hit the + beside Folders and navigate to and choose your parent folder to have Lightroom rrder the folders as they are on the hard drive.
It will reference all folders in the Parent folder though.
