I wanted to report a problem I had that may or may not be specific to my particular installation.
I had been using Beta 3, moved on to Beta 4 (including the 4.1 update) and then installed LR 1.0 and migrated that database during the install to use going forward.
For those of you that took that route - you know that LR created collections from the ''shoots'' that you had in that beta db, while essentially replacing the shoots with the folders that we have in LR 1.0.
That all went fine and I really didn't have any issue until yesterday when I decided I no longer needed those migrated shoot collections. So I decided to delete them. Once I did that - LR became really unresponsive. At first I thought it was just churning through the deletes. But after it updated the display to indicate those collections were gone, it continue to be very sluggish. I thought it might be memory related - so I closed it down, rebooted the machine, and then started it back up.
No matter what I did after that, LR would come up and then after about a minute all of the counts on my folders and collections would get zero'd out, except for just a few. Even after leaving it alone for about an hour - it still was acting the same way. Not sure what was going on. So I went back to a backup copy of the db that I made before doing those deletes - and the program returned to normal operation.
This is the Windows version - running on a Dual Core 2 Duo machine and XP SP2.
It could be that this problem is unique to my machine - but just in case it is not - I would strongly advise folks to be careful in removing those migrated shoots - and definitely make sure they have backups of the db any time that sort of thing is going to be done - just to be safe.

I deleted my shoots collections right after converting my 4.1 library and had no problems after that.
Try an integrity check (included in the automatic backup function in preferences) to see if it helps.

Beta db users beware of potential...
Interesting point - I know I had not done that in a while on my db before doing that. I will do that the next time I back up my db and try it again just to see if it makes any difference. I got the feeling that by deleting those collections I had somehow ''pulled the rug out from underneath'' LR. I know that is certainly not a technical explanation :). But I got the feeling that somehow deleting those got rid of related records that tied the images to the folders somehow. Perhaps some sort of relational delete problem. Not sure.
Anyhow - will see if the integrity check detects any issues.
